In Hill Country Musings
It’s all about pumpkins in the Texas Hill Country this time of year! We have dozens of family owned farms growing the sweet, fall fruits for your enjoyment! Two of my favorite destinations for fall decor, pie pumpkins, and sweet treats are Jenschke Orchards & Vogel Orchards on the 290 Wine Trail! The service at both locations is superb and the sweets couldn’t get any more, well sweeter! Just the other day I took my kiddos for a “pick-your-own” party and we ended up with nearly 80 lbs of pumpkin! It was a memorable experience, to be sure. Now that the fall weather is finally here - use this excuse to get cozy with your loved ones and have some fall fun!! Pick your pumpkin souvenirs and then head over to Becker Vineyards for a warm glass of mulled wine. They even sell their mulled wine spice pack, so you can brew your own batch at home!! Be sure to plan a dinner at our favorite restaurant, Ottos on Austin Street in downtown Fredericksburg. With toasty warm heaters, even their outdoor seating is available! Great German inspired food, and an unbeatable wine selection make for an unexpected pleasure in our little town!!
